swing set on West 9th
for Rain and Crystal
tall white chipped
rusted poles
angle and reach
swings' silver chains
spark and shine
clinks and clunks of
metal
mix with the laughs of two
golden haired girls
brown arms and
legs
flying
teeter totter
tilts to time and
time again they
jump on
ride to the sun
smiling dolls hugged
into the love seat—
give'm a push
sway
push
sway
little yellow heads bounce
jump
whirl 'round bars
then climb the ladder
to overhead plums
pluck'm
then pop'm whole
into tiny rose mouths
as they swing and point
those tiny bare feet
farther and
farther
into the blue
illimitable
summer sky
